How we corrected the foundation water funnel from last update:
The condition is the foundation projects out past the frame wall, and even the finished stucco wall. The foundation collects water and directs it inside.
The contractor made a drawing to be approved by the homeowner. The step in the foundation is covered with flashing and a stucco band is used to hide the flashing.
Here the flashing is in place. We taped it to the house wrap and covered the edge with tar paper. I always cover the house wrap with tar paper because I don't trust house wrap. At this point we didn't finish the band yet because a snow storm knocked us into unemployment.
The wall is browned, that is filled and straightened. We put another weep stop at the bottom. This adds another 3/4" for the band.
The band is formed with a 1 -1/2" piece of styrofoam and filled halfway. Note the mortar is scored for a good bond for the next layer.
Yet another 3/4" stop is put on. Note that each stop at the bottom has weep holes.
Band is filled up to the foam. It is cold outside so we have to fill a little at a time.
Foam form removed, showing our nice straight band.
Finish coat on band. Importantly, the top of the band has an angle for water to run off.
