More Deteriorated masonry repaired using acrylic additives

Most of these wing walls are in bad shape, including these walls on this 1914 house in Chevy Chase, Washington, DC. These have been patched up over the years.
We used Rapid Set mixed with plenty of Flex con for the scratch coat. Rapid set is a great time saver.
These would have lasted longer if the caps were sloped for water run off. The cement caps were deteriorated, too. The lime and sand mortar holding the bricks together had completely dissolved.
We put on a scratch coat with Rapid Set and flex con on two sides and allowed this mortar to set before tearing off the other side. If we tore the mortar off the other side, the walls would have collapsed.
After another scratch coat, we dash on the pebble mix. We recoated the tops and need to wait for the mortar to set up to trowel them smooth.
111 year old walls look like new. They should last 211 years this time.
